After carefully considering all options, we have made the difficult decision to suspend the Phoenix Surgical Symposium indefinitely.  As has been shared in previous communications, the appeal of a local in-person meeting has waned due to the availability of high-quality online surgical education, more specialization in general surgery, the high cost of producing a high-quality in-person meeting and the difficulty of taking time away from our practices to attend a meeting.

Given the rich history of the Phoenix Surgical Symposium, we do not take this decision lightly. Should a local surgical society be desired in the future, we are hopeful the Phoenix Surgical Society can fill that role.
